TALFOURD - COOK

Founding Director of Conservatives Together, Former Chief of Staff to Sir Grant Shapps, and incoming Political Leadership Scholar at the University of Oxford.

ABOUT RUPERT

Rupert Talfourd-Cook is a political strategist and communications adviser with experience at the highest levels of British politics. He advises political leaders, organisations and growing businesses on strategy, messaging, media, campaigning and reputation.

Rupert previously served as Chief of Staff to the Rt Hon Sir Grant Shapps, following earlier roles leading his communications in Parliament. His work included shaping political strategy, preparing major media interventions, managing senior stakeholders, responding to fast-moving issues and overseeing the day-to-day operation of a high-profile political office.

He is also the Founding Director of Conservatives Together, a national organisation established to identify, train and support future Conservative candidates and campaigners. He developed the organisation from its inception, building its programmes, partnerships and public profile.

Before entering politics, Rupert worked in education and conducted published academic research in psychology. This background informs his understanding of public opinion, persuasion and decision-making, and underpins a practical, evidence-led approach to political communications.

He is a Political Leadership Scholar at the University of Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government.
